Mark your calendar to be in San Antonio on Friday, December 5, 2003. The San Antonio Rehabilitation Association has put together an exciting program with outstanding speakers. The conference topics include “No Safe Place” (how our lives are affected by stress, terrorism, etc.), “Disability and the Media: Attitudes, Action, and Advocacy”; “Building Resilience within Yourself”; “Learned Helplessness”; “Identifying symptoms and helping Others Deal with Stress”; and a panel to discuss “Practical Applications”.

The conference will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Oak Hills Medical Center Hotel, 7401 Wurzbach (at Babcock), San Antonio, Texas. Early registration fees are available when registrations are postmarked or faxed by November 17, 2003. Early rates are: Members $45; Group Rate $65; Non-members: $85; Students $15. Organizations, which sponsor 3 or more employees, can take advantage of the Group Rate. If you are not yet a member, you may join at the time you register and receive the Member Rate.

Your training dollars are put to work by SAARA: 75% of net profits from this conference is given as grants to persons with disabilities and Rehab students to attend TRA/SAARA training (limit of $500 year).

Conference Registrants are invited to join SAARA members for a “Meet and Greet” social at Easter Seals, 2203 Babcock, San Antonio, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2003.

San Antonio Riverwalk will be decorated for the holidays, so come and enjoy the city, too.
